Pentetic acid or diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid (DTPA) is an aminopolycarboxylic acid consisting of a
diethylenetriamine backbone with five carboxymethyl groups. The molecule can be viewed as an expanded
version of EDTA and is used similarly. It is a white, water-soluble solid.
